Hey everyone, I started this blog so that we can keep up with one another on our efforts to help Mom -- our conversations, new concerns, etc. I think this is a way to keep us all on the same page.
Elizabeth, I've already talked to Jo about this and she thought it was a good idea. I asked our buddy Steve-- Naples Car Service -- if he would take Mom to appointments, grocery store, etc. I asked him if he would charge her $15 and then bill us for the rest. It's normally $30, depending on how far, how long, etc. He said he would do that. We all know that she'll say she can't afford it it we tell her the full price, but I think she'll go for it at $15. She has already consented to having him take her to the doctor tomorrow if I can get an appointment for her. Obviously, she's very capable of making her own appointment. But she needs to get in tomorrow if at all possible, and she doesn't get up early enoughShe agreed to that. She said that her arm is getting worse and that it is hurting all the way down to the wrist. I really wonder if the bone is cracked. They'll send her to get an x-ray, of course.
I'll ask him to bill me and then let you guys know how much it is. If we each pay 1/3 I think it will work. For me it will mean eating at home instead of going out all the time -- which I should be doing anyway. I don't think it will be much more than once a week or every other week.
Elizabeth, do you know if her lock box has a key? I got into it but I don't remember how -- if it has a key or not. And now she says that she can't get into it. But I don't know how she got down on the floor to look at it. Of course, I'm in pretty hot water, which I don't blame her for . . . And for all that, I didn't have time to look for the medical power of attorney, so I still don't have it.
I just talked to her this evening, and she told me that I didn't do enough before I left . . . Sigh . . .
So, will you guys let me know if you think the blog is a good idea? And if you think it is, will everyone keep up with it?
I talked with her tonight - hopefully before you did Mandy because she didn't seem to know anything about you making an appointment for her. I had also told her that she has to go to the doc. tomorrow. we also talked about ways she could use the walker and she said she needs a big piece of plastic to cover it because she is planning for it to get dusty. sigh.....
ReplyDeleteI talked to her after you had. She told me that she had talked to you. I said I was going to call you and she said not to. So of course, I called you right away but you didn't answer. So I got busy on the blog.
ReplyDeleteShe asked me to put the walker in the garage and cover it up before I left and I told her I wouldn't do that. I put it in the corner in the extra bedroom. I told her she might want to use it on a bad day or if she was feeling wobbly, or whatever.

ReplyDeleteIf I have to prove I am "not a robot" everytime I want to post, this is not going to work for me. sorry. Is their anything wrong with plain old email? I mean google mail keeps track of emails via "conversation status", makes it very easy to follow.
ReplyDeleteOh, and one other thing....this is a public blog....anyone can see the contents of this blog and all comments....just FYI
ReplyDeleteElizabeth said she'd fix it so that we are "contributors' and can create new posts. I think that means we don't have to prove we're not a robot. We can also make it private. I just think it's a lot easier than searching through email all the time, and then searching through individual emails that are stacked up, often with same header even though subjects differ. I just thought this would be a lot easier.
ReplyDeleteif we can get rid of the robot thing and make it private, I agree. let me know if it gets done :)
